Price of the cockroach extermination depends on the means you choose to kill them. The least expensive way is making your own bait with Borax from your cupboard. Mix it with food spills or grains or dissolve in warm water and distribute everywhere the insects may nest and breed: kitchen sink and shelves, electric outlets, difficult-access regions under furniture and domestic appliances. Borax powder costs around $2 per pound. You can also buy some hydrochloric acid for $10 to make a boric acid out of your Borax. Some pesticide producers make special boric acid-based powder: Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder will cost you around $15.
Glue-traps are very cheap and effective if you spotted cockroaches early: famous Roach Motel by Black Flag will cost you $10 to $15 for the pack of six traps. If you deal with a large nest and gluing the roaches is not enough, try bait stations: Combat Max Defense System ($7,75) or Harris Famous Roach Tablets ($7).
The most expensive service in this field of work is a professional cockroach extermination. It will cost you from $100 to $400 and after that you will probably need maintenance monthly visits for $50. We wouldn’t recommend it until you’ve tried all the other means.
