German cockroaches are common for apartment houses and public spaces across the USA. They prefer damp and warm spots and usually can be found in kitchens or bathrooms. German cockroaches prefer to crawl at night, so if you see one during daytime, that could mean that you have a serious infestation and the nests are overcrowded. They are quite small with brownish body and a peculiar smell, you can also trace them by their crumbly feces that look like black pepper.
German cockroaches are quite difficult to get rid of: it takes six month in average if you happen to have a severe infestation. The good news is they can be killed with usual insecticides. A combination of bait tablets, like Harris Famous Roach and Silverfish Killer Tablets, and a bait gel, for example Bayer Maxforce Roach Gel, should be enough to exterminate them. But you will probably need to repeat all the measures to prevent the new infestation.
